Hi there;

I've purchased a Samsung SSD 840 Evo 500gb for my new build about 2 months ago but have only just benchmarked it with AS SSD Benchmark and got very low 4k speed results on both AS Media and Intel SATA 3 ports. What's causing this? BTW; I've switched AHCI mode before installing Windows and made OS Optimization & Over Provisioning via Samsung Magician.

Here is my build;

Windows 7 64bit OS

MB: Asüs Rampage 4 Formula
CPU: Intel i7 4820K
GPU: Asüs GTX 770 2GB
RAM: 1 x 4 Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz, 2 x 4 G.Skill Ripjaws 1866mhz
PSU: Seasonic SEA-X-850 850Watt
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 500gb SSD + Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB 7200rpm

and here is benchmark results;

Intel SATA 3 port;

Your read speed seems actually to be above average:
http://www.overclock.net/t/1470201/samsung-840-evo-1tb-low-4k-read
''Do you know what a 4k Read is? Its low. On every drive. Ever. Its because you're pulling 4kB files off the drive at random places. Run CrystalDiskMark, it'll give you the same(ish) numbers. If you break 40MB/s on 4k I'll be surprised.''

If you have a drive performance setting in your BIOS (like I do on my computer), try setting the SSD to something like High Performance if possible and it might increase your speeds.
