Hi all,

I just purchased a new video card for my PC and installed it yesterday. It is an EVGA NVidia Geforce GTX 750 TI.

After a few speed bumps with installation (my first time installing a piece of hardware along with a new more powerful power supply) I have it working like a charm. Except for one thing, when I open WMP or VLC media player to play a 720 or 1080 resolution video the screen flashes black for about a second and then the video plays flawlessly, and then when I press stop or close the player it flashes again and then its fine.

Ive turned on my games and they all work and no flashing black screen. Also, I wanted to point out if I go to youtube and toggle 720 or 1080 on a video it doesnt make my screen blink at all but the quality gets better just like it should. All my drivers are up to date as well.

Some specs are:
Windows 7 Home 64 Bit
Processor: AMD FX(tm)-6120 Six-Core Processor ~3.5GHz
Memory: 10240MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
My PSU is a EVGA 500W

I tried to do a search and toyed with the results but nothing helped when i tried to mess with settings on the media players and such. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Im not trying to bump my thread for the hell of it but I tried the process of elimination with a few things. I tried a different HDMI cable, same result. I tried an older monitor with no HDMI port but i did plug in blue DVI (i think its called?) cable and it did not do the flash. I then plugged in the DVI cable into my current monitor and it didnt do it either.

So what I have concluded is that it has something to do with my current monitor and an HDMI cable.... Unforutnately I do not have another monitor that can be plugged in via HDMI to test that out but that is where I am at currently.
