am using a adapter for VGA to mini display port for my apple mac book air for school. When I use it it does not show any red, only yellows and blues. I have tried this on 3 different monitors and it always does the same thing. I have also used a different VGA cables. I checked the bios on the mac book and it does have 2gb of integrated graphics, so it should be able to at least run it.
Do you think that the VGA is taking up too much power?
Is it only meant for apple displays?
