As title says,i have an intel 2 extreme qx 6700(2,67 ghz).I recently started to play again combat arms and after some days i downloaded battlefield 4.But because of battlefield 4 i was a bit worried about my temp of my pc so i downloaded hw monitor.Today,i noticed that 1 of my cores(core #1) works at 100%(while playing combat arms) while the other 3 work at like 3-6 %.Combat arms,is a really old fps game (made at 2008) and its recommended settings are really low,so i come at a big surpise when i found out that one my cores work at 100%.After searching it a bit,i found out that older programms work better on less cores.Eventually,i watched a video explaining how to solve this problem(open task bar,right click at the programm,set affinity).But here it comes another problem.After setting affinity at the programm i wanted(combat arms)i wanted to be sure that the affinity had been set up so i right clicked again,set affinity,but an error popped up saying that i couldnt set affinity.Whats happening?Why one of my cores work at 100% load?How to solve the problems?Can the core problem damage my pc?
