I know the basic stuff about computers, building, components and what not but i have never encountered this problem..

My friends build was getting dirty so i decided to take it home with me and clean it up. Lots of dust. so i removed everything and cleaned it all up with canned air and i put everything back to the way it should be. After starting it up, i encountered this problem. i've never even seen this is my time of building computers.

so i searched online for any solutions and some say to disconnect the front USB headers, and i have and still shows up. i checked the pins on every USB port and header and still nothing.

Maybe it's time for a new motherboard?
Maybe a new case would work? The case was old recycled case from our church, but it's custom mid tower case.
Here are the specs:
Asus P8H77-M PRO
Intel Core i5 3570k
8GB Corsair XMS
Radeon HD 5450
Cooler Master 500w

Please help and thanks in advance.

Hi
that basically could be a short on the 5V USB line,if you removed the motherboard check very carefully that there is nothing between it and the case that could be causing a short, also if you removed the standoffs that you refitted them in the correct places.

Thanks, since the motherboard was on a removable plate, i didn't bother remove the motherboard from it. When i actually took a look, i noticed one of the standoffs were in the wrong position . I guess when my other friend built it, he misplaced it and when i tightened the screws it must have made contact.

Thanks again!
