New Ram Causing Infinite Boot Loop[

I have a Gigabyte Ga-p55a-ud3 motherboard and I just tried to install new ram (g.skill ripjaw x series 2 x 4GB DDR3 1600). The old ram is 2 x 2 GB or corsair DDR3 1600. The computer boots fine with the old ram, but with the new ram installed I get into an infinite boot loop. I've tried changing slots (still same result) booting with one stick (this scenario won't even allow me to access my bios), and I'm out of ideas. Voltage and everything appear fine on MOBO settings with new ram (1.5V).

Running Windows 8.1. I'm thinking either a) my MOBO isn't compatible with the new ram (can't imagine why) or my CPU doesn't like my new ram (again, don't understand why).

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello... The Gigabyte sight is the best place to determine a MB BIO's update for your MB.
But this will not change how your memory controller is Physically wired to your memory slots.
Your MB/chipset model falls into that AGE of 16GB's Max and 2Gb max per side or DDR3 memory. Alot of people are having trouble with the Kingston " Blue's" for this very reason... Their website shows a warning on MB Chipsets under H61 etc.
Hello... Not all DDR3 memory is all the same and can have electrical differences... there is 1Rx8 2Rx8, 1Rx4, SS, DS, etc... determine the specs on your Corsair and your new set for a possible mis-match explaination.
Since your MB is only 16GB max, there could be 2gb max per side of each slot/memory module., and you would need a Double sided 2gb's per side type of memory module.

I have tried clearing the CMOS using the 2 prongs on the MOBO. I'll have to go back and look at my specs of the Corsair and compare to the new set to see if there are any discrepancies in the voltage or frequency. From what I could tell and see, they are exactly the same (1.5V/1600 MHz). I have not tried booting the computer in safe mode, but I'll give a shot.

I'm not sure how to determine if it's a 2GB max per side of each slow/memory module. MOBO has four slots for RAM. Are you saying that if my stick of ram is 4 GB single and not 2, 2GB double sided it may cause incompatibility?

^^^^this! You may also try updating the BIOS to the newest version (use your old ram when doing it). Its an older board and I only see a couple of 4gb sticks listed on the memory compatibility page of your motherboard's support site and they are double sided, 2gb per side like Ironsounds mentioned.

I tried updating the MOBO last night but could only find updated through Windows 7 64-bit, nothing for Windows 8 on the gigabyte website. Any idea where I could find another way to update the board outside of the Gigabyte site?
