I've just bought an ASUS Radeon R7 250 graphics card and on the box under recommended system requirements it says "Minimum 400W system power supply (with a minimum 12V current rating of 24A)".

Am I OK to install with my Bestec Power Supply Unit ATX - 300 - 12Z ROV - ECR 300W MAX ?

Am I right in thinking it just goes into the PCI slot and doesn't use much power?

Or do I need to uprate the Power Supply Unit?

Grateful for any advice please.

Many thanks.

really depends on how much rest of your build draws, if rest of your build is pretty hungry then when GPU comes to high load you might experience unexpected shutdowns or that PSUs cheap capacitors literally MELTING like butter!..mm butter...

That's really not a good thing is it? Much as I like butter...

Hmmm, take your point. Sounds like a trip up to my local electronics store for a new PSU.

Thanks for your advice.
