I just bought a Sapphire Radeon R9 280 and I'm not able to get it working. I made sure it is plugged in properly and my power supply more than meets the requirements for the card.

My 3 attempts at getting it to work:

1st try: I got beeps (didn't count how many) from the motherboard and no video so I shut down.

2nd try: The computer booted up fine with video and I could see in the device manager that the card was recognized. However, after a couple minutes video cut out and I had to force shut down the computer.

3rd try: I got 6 beeps and no video.

I tried going back to my old card (Radeon HD 6870) and everything works fine, so there's clearly some issue with this new card. I don't know if the problem is my motherboard or the card itself.

I've seen other threads mention things like opening BIOS, using Legacy mode, or disabling the onboard graphics, but I can't do any of this with no video (not that i know how to anyway).

Some extra info that may be useful:

OS: Windows 7 64bit
PSU: 750w
CPU: i7 2600
