So I've been upgrading and old Dell XPS 435 recently and installed a brand new SSD and put Win 7 Ultimate on it. I followed a guide on here first about setting the BIOS on the machine to RAID as that is apparently the only way to enable AHCI on this machine. I ran a check for TRIM after I installed Windows and it indeed is working. Now, I have installed a brand new 1 TB WD HDD. I booted it back up and went to Computer-Manage and formatted the drive and it now shows as drive E:. Well, upon restart I've gone from what was about an 8 sec boot into Windows with just the SSD plugged in to an almost 5 minute boot with the HDD also plugged in. I went back into boot config and removed the HDD from the list completely but that has not helped. I do see this screen on boot briefly with some green writing where I can see it says non-raid device next two 2 devices or something like that - it moves by too fast. The majority of the load time is spend on the Starting Windows screen. Anyone have any advice on what's going on or what I can do to get my 8 sec boot time back? Thanks in advance!

Just to add some more info, I just tried disconnecting the HDD and booting. Back to a very fast boot speed with just the SSD plugged in and I didn't see the black screen with info about RAID......so it's definitely something with the HDD.
