I would like to cool an i7 2700k because I am getting near 90 degrees on stock speeds on the stock cooler.
What's the best cpu cooler for that price except the hyper 212? (Excluding hyper 212 because I want to see if thee is anything better, my budget is a bit higher than the price of cm hyper 212) there is SO much choice for coolers and I am getting confused.

Thanks in advance

I just put the hyper 212 evo on an i5 4690k and it's doing alright. Especially given the bf deals when it was around $25. At 4.2ghz it was holding around 65-68c running prime 95 for half an hour (v26.6 small fft's). It's better than the stock cooler, it's pretty quiet. Not my favorite when it comes to mounting, I think the mounting is a bit cheesy. At least it doesn't interfere with the ram too much (the fan is close, but not touching the first dimm on a z97 board). Now that it's gone back up to $30-35 ($26 still but don't feel like messing with another mir) I'm considering a different option for the other i5.

That said, if you have the room in your case and you want near noctua d14 cooling the thermalright true spirit 140 power is a...

Hello,

I have a Corsair Hyper 212 EVO and it absolutely ROCKS! I have a Core i7-2600 @3.4 GHz Boost @3.8 GHz and it's not like it's frugal on power: 95 watts stock but I allow it to get 105+ watts and this cooler has kept it under 55 degrees (131 degrees Fahrenheit) Celsius at all times.
In summary, you cannot go wrong with this cooler as it's around 30$(no exact price as those fluctuate) and does an excellent job at keeping things nice and cool. It is for AMD and Intel processors so you have some flexibility. Also, it is a bit tall so please check the Corsair site for the dimension, measure you case and don't forget to check RAM clearance as some tall heatsinks may not allow it to fit.

I hope it's not too long to read but I really must commend Corsair on their product!
Hope I helped :D

Oh. My. God... This is an unforgivable mistake, I have taken appropriate precautions for this not to happen again and will now commit suicide. Farewell world: I am too stupid to be here...

That said, if you have the room in your case and you want near noctua d14 cooling the thermalright true spirit 140 power is a good looking performer. A tad thin looking aesthetically but it's $53 - a good $20+ less than the noctua or others.
