I am trying install windows 8 on my brand new computer. I get through the entire installation process. The computer restarts as it has informed me it would but when starts up and tries to load up windows 8 it says there was an error and the install must be redone. Error is irql_not_less_or_equal

I would just remove any extra pci or pci-e cards that you have installed other than your video card. Just make sure you install windows 8 with just the basics hooked up keyboard mouse monitor. Then try to install again

Also disable Memory Caching if your motherboard has it

Have the same Mobo, and ran into this problem initially, but only when attempting to install drivers.

I traced the problem back to the Ethron USB 3.0 host controller driver and a conflict with AMD CCC. This must be installed LAST. I don't use it, I use the generic controller within the AMD CCC.

If I tried to install the AMD CCC after installing that package, it would get that exact error.

Steps I took: Did a clean install of windows like you would Win 98 through XP (from the disk). Install E2200 NIC and Realtek OB sound drivers...reboot. Install AMD drivers....reboot. Install all other drivers...reboot. Windows update...reboot.

NOW you can install that Ethron 3.0 controller BUT the next time you update the AMD software you will have the same problem. OK if you are only using on board devices. For users like me who have an AMD discrete GPU...not so much.
