I built my first pc a few months ago and it is running pretty smoothly. The build actually went better than I thought (I was expecting to screw something up but I never did :D). I use it for a lot of video editing with programs like Adobe After Effects CS6. Also from time to time I play games like LoL or counter strike. I currently have 8 gb ram but I'm considering upgrading to 16 gb? Is it worth it? And if I were going to upgrade to 16 gb of ram would I just be able to get the same ram that I'm using now?

Here is my parts list if you need to see it.

or go 2x8GB and sell off your older sticks or use them in a different rig - the 2x8GB set would be guaranteed to work together and a little less stress on the MC the 4x4GB
For your video editing, 16GB of memory should speed up the work. You won't notice anything playing games, though. You can try getting an exact match/kit and see if it works. There is no guarantee that mixing kits will work. A four stick kit is your best bet because all four sticks would have been tested together making sure that they worked together.
