Have you tried to use the FN+F# key combination to try to toggle display output?
Have you also tried unplugging your TV for 45 seconds waiting for it to completely lose power and then plugging it in and trying again?
When you plug the TV into the laptop do you hear the sound that Windows makes when it detects new devices?
