Hi, last Friday night (after a couple of drinks) i managed to splash some lemonade into my running PC. It instantly crashed, and i killed he power from the mains. I tried cleaning up the best i could, but left it for the night. Th next day, i took it apart and gave everything a good clean, but after hooking it all back together, no dice. There was power going to the LEDs on my PC, and the light on my GPU was OK, but neither the CPU or the GPU fans were spinning.

I unhooked everything, leaving only the CPU/cooler, RAM and the 24 and 8 pin MB connectors. there was no power going to the CPU fan (it was plugged into MB)

I assumed the MB had been fried, so i bought a new CPU and motherboard (why not upgrade right) When the arrived i tried again...same problem. My next assumption was there was not enough power. So i bought a PSU to see if that would fix this fine mess. Again, no dice!

So here is where i am...I have a new CPU,motherboard and PSU. I've connected the CPU/cooler, my OS SSD, 1 stick of RAM and GPU. My case is wired to the MB and all components are powered. When i power up the PC the GPU/CPU fans spin for a second and then stop.

I really cant work out where to go from here. Any input would be greatly appreciated as I've hit a wall as to what to do next.

Solution
In general if it won't work with Your friends RAM, You could consider to be very unlucky, or, somewhere in the process You nicked something. Because the stuff that's happening to You is heavily unprobable. New motherboard + cpu + psu, holy molly, that's new computer, and it doesn't work. So it "must" be the ram...

Yea I didn't change the RAM. Its the only thing left from the old PC barring the SDD/HDD.

I noticed 2 case fans that aren't working either, but i wouldnt think that would stop the GPU/CPU fans.

I tried switching both modules in (i have 2x4gb) to no effect. Do you think the both could have been damaged?

I didnt see any, but i think my case fans kind of splashed it everywhere TBH

Okay, can You do the following?

Put out Your new motherboard, and CPU, and everything, put it on cardbox, run only motherboard + psu + cpu + cooler, with one ram module only. If it doesn't work, can You borrow [not buy, just borrow, that is important in Your case as I see :)] one ram module and try it out?

Haha yea! and not for monetary reasons either, if i need to spend another day waiting for the postman like a dog, I'll cry :p
I have tried what you suggested and its basically the same result. I called my friend to borrow a spare 2gb, I'll let you know the result. Thanks for your help buddy!

New RAM arrived today, and it had done the trick. I still have problems with a couple of case fans not working, but my temps are fine, so not critical.

Thanks a bunch for your help buddy, hope you have a good chrimbo :)
