Hi, I'm about to build a new computer for gaming, (and I will not be doing any video rendering, editing or anything like this - don't have the skills). Basically, I've settled on getting a Z97 motherboard, i5-4690K CPU, GTX 970 GPU, and a 27" 2560x1440 monitor.

However, got a question regarding the RAM. I'm thinking of Kingston HyperX Fury/Savage sticks. But this brought along some questions.

1) 1600/1866/2133/2400 MHz?
2) 8/16/32 GB?

Well, I live in Eastern Europe, and here the relative prices are:
8 GB (both 1x8 and 2x4) 1600/1866 costs 75 Euros, 2133/2400 is around 90€.
16 GB (2x8) 1600/1866 is 150, while 2133/2400 is about 175.
32 GB (4x8) 1600/1866 is 315-335, while 2133/2400 is 350.

Solution
For the truth, all you need for gaming is 8GB.
But if you want to go a little bit overkill i would use 16.
I personally use 8, it's all i need as a photo editor and gamer :).

Well, thanks for the suggestion. But what about the speed? Is 2133/2400 MHz worth the extra 10-20€?

To answer your question, i wouldn't spend the extra 10-20 because you wouldn't notice the difference.
