I have 3 monitors, and 2 of them are rotated to "portrait" mode. They are all plugged into an MSI GTX970 videocard.
When I boot into the BIOS, it's using the portait monitor, which is pretty annoying, since it's rotated. Is there a way to change that?

The only way that I know of doing it is to change your monitor cables, move the cable that is on the rotated monitor to the one you want primary. Then once in window you will have to the monitor setup and readjust them so they display right.

My landscape monitor HAS to use the display port cable, since I rely on the built in speakers.

Would it be a problem to try plugging my portrait monitors into the onboard graphics?

your GTX 970 should have more than one display port. Can you plug your landscape monitor into the display port currently being used by the portrait monitor and move the portrait monitor to another displayport?

Are there any differences between HDMI and DisplayPort otherwise?
