I have a 1TB external hard drive and I need to back up my MacBook for an update but I've already backed my PC up on it. Will it be okay to back my Mac up on the same drive?
If you use time machine probably not because it will want a mac file system. If you just copy data to it, then probably yes. If it is formatted to ntfs, both MAC and PC will be able to access it.

So say I let Time Machine have it's way with the drive. It'll erase my PC back-up but can I then take the drive back over to my PC and back it up? (So is Mac not compatible with Windows, but Windows compatible with Mac?)
