Does the Asus Maximus VII Hero BIOS support Devil's Canyon out of the box?

I just recently purchased an Asus Maximus VII Hero and an Intel i5 4690k. The board is version 1.01 if I recall correctly (I will update when I get home. It is definitely 1.0 something.) I was wondering if I need to utilize the EZflash utility to update my BIOS, or if the board supports Devil's Canyon out of the box as advertised.

Is there any way to tell what BIOS the board is running pre-boot? I only have the i5 chip for this board. Which BIOS update added support for the chip?

Sorry, so many questions. I've never flashed my BIOS and to be honest it sounds like asking for trouble, even with how easy they have made it. I'd rather not risk it without need.

Ah, yeah it is version 1002. And Blackbird, I know. It just makes me nervous haha. I didn't know if there was a way to tell which BIOS the board was running without booting first is why I asked. Thanks for the help; I assume with such an old BIOS I have to flash?

No need to flash the BIOS, as the CPU is supported.
