I have currently 270X and drivers on computer. Just bought 290X. Do I HAVE to uninstall old drivers before switching cards? Always in the past I have done this, but rather not do this time if I don't have to.

Want to just put new card in and fast install new drivers. Old drivers being there won't hurt?

Solution
Try this, it might work.
First of all you need to TOTALLY remove all the old drivers. Use this link.

Note:
Select the respective company(i.e Nvidia or ATI) drivers to be uninstalled.
Use clean and restart option.
And then install the new drivers after rebooting.

You can always try , I am not a radeon user , but for all my nvidia updates I never uninstall the old driver . When it comes to installing a new gpu
I always uninstall drivers before replacing the card, also disconnect from internet , windows likes to automatically install drivers and I think its best to get the latest from the manufacture website , dl the right drivers first , then unplugg internet and do your upgrade -
