Hey guys, I know this has been asked before, but I thank you for your help in advance. So my budget is right at the lower side of the $200 range and I am in the market for a new card.

I can't decide between the GTX 760, R9 270 or R9 270x. I don't want to spend too much more than I have to so I guess bang for the buck is a big factor here. Let the discussion commence.

As Mac said, you can get a 280 for a similar price which is better than any of those.
Out of those 3 though, the 270X has the highest clock speed ( may vary between some brands ) and there's a 4GB VRAM version available, if you can afford it then that'd be the best out of these 3 IMO. Though the 760 is an nvidia product ( chipset ) and many people find it more durable or of better quality. I'd say go with the 270X 4GB ( or 2GB if you can't afford it ), IMO it's the most bang for the buck.

Well I watched a couple of benchmark videos and it appeared that the 270 overclocks to a similar platform that 270x does, and since I had a strong desire to keep money in my pocket I just went with a plain 270 and I'll save my money for a better GPU why skylake hits markets.
