Hey, i tried to update my samsung magician software as i was getting lower fps than usual in bf3. The software update had a bunch of errors then shut my pc down.
When i try and log in it says welcome for a bit then freezes.
Safe mode works
Normal mode worked once but the bars looks and felt like safe mode (froze aswell).
Help, how do i fix it?
Thanks

1. what drive are you using? It makes a difference as to if a boot CD is available to force a reflash of the firmware of the drive.

2. the frame rate of BF3 won't be improved by updating the firmware on an SSD. Load times, and certain very rare occasions when it is loading a texture off disk instead of from memory, but it will not affect your framerate at all.

SSD stands for "solid state drive," or "drive" for short.

Go to this page: http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/minisite/SSD/us/html/support/downloads.html

The fourth section is the firmware section. The second selection is for your drive. Download the second link, which is an iso for a CD that will do a firmware upgrade.

this might link to the right thing http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/minisite/SSD/downloads/software/Samsung_SSD_840_EVO_EXT0BB6Q.iso

Use a program to burn that iso to a CD. If you do not have a program that will do that, here is one: http://www.freeisoburner.com/

Boot the machine from that CD. I haven't seen what it does or how it works, but there is probably a menu where you select doing a firmware update. Use some logic to figure that part out. It should be fairly obvious.

If this doesn't work, you will need to being it to a professional.

Firmware is up to date though...
It says SATA interface N/A and AHCI mode disabled even though i checked it was on in BIOS. Could it be a BIOS update.
Really frustrated :(

I know I could fix it if I could get my hands on it, but since I can't, I'll just give what advice I could. This is a complex issue, and I can't tell all the variables just from forum posts. This is something you're going to need to bring to a professional. Find a good tech shop, preferably a lone proprietor type shop. Don't even consider Best Buy's Geek Squad. The best bet is to look for "computer repair" and your city's name in a Google or Bing search. A good tech will probably be able to fix this in less than an hour, so the cost should be reasonable.
