I updated from xp to 7 and lost my internet connection driver.

Solution
Use this link on another computer and DL the driver put it on a flash drive and update your driver: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M4A88TDV_EVOUSB3/HelpDesk_Download/

Worst case go buy a cheap Lan card I got one for $14 but it was a PCI-E 1x, you may need to get a regular PCI.

Ok. So do I do that off another computer? I know its a dumb question but I dont know a lot about this and I dont get how to go on the internet without having connection on that computer.

Okay was this a custom build or was this a pre-assembled model like a DELL or Gateway... If its a custom build do you still have the driver disk you got with your motherboard? It will have your Lan driver on it. then you can go and update the driver to the lastest version. If it's a store bought model check the disks that came with it you should have a utility disk with your drivers on it. If you know the model of the motherboard you can go to the mfr's website and download the current Drivers. If you don't know that but you know the Lan chip on the motherboard you can go their website and DL the current driver for it. Will will most likely have to use another computer or notebook if you have to DL the driver and put the driver on a USB Flash Drive and move it over that way.

The computer was custom built.....the person who built to computer for my mom (it was a computer she used for work) did not give us the disc. The motherboard is an Asus M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3. The ethernet controller is pci bus 6. device 0. fucntions 0. I do not have internet on the computer being fixed, obviously, and I am currently trying to find the driver on a separate computer in order to install it. I went to the ASUS website; however, the drivers would not download off my Flash drive. I have been searching for the ethernet controller all day and have come up empty. I would really like to not have to buy a new motherboard so if you guys could off me help on what i might be doing wrong I would really appreciate it.
