So, i'm building a pc. I have the asus a88x MoBo. It is fm2 socket. Well, unknowingly, since i'm new to this, I got the wrong fan, but I have no money to send it back to the ebay seller and still afford a new fan.(im 15 and exhausted my money) Is there any way I can temporarily connect it till I get more money for a new fan? I thought of using wire or those annoying ties you get on wires that hold them together in packaging. Would this be good temporarily as long as it is stable?

Solution
Yes those annoying little ties will work just fine. Zip ties (the correct size) would be a bit better. As long as is stays where it is suppose to you can use it for the life of the PC.

I bought my cpu without a fan(i found it for half the price on ebay) and I then bought a 7000 rpm fan for overclocking. Well, turns out the overclocking fan doesnt fit my mobo. It has the wrong clips, but if I got ties, I could tie it on pretty sturdy. But I don't know if that is risky or not.

Reedo, that's not what I was saying xD.

I meant like, that the 7000 rpm beast may actually cool them rather than heat them, but the heatsink may heat them. The fan is actually rather big to, i've tested it and it is very powerful.
