What features and Stats should i look in to when purchasing memory?

I plan on having 8gb-16gb of memory for my 1st build. I don't know how to differentiate the performance of different sets of sticks.

With the 8350 and that mobo, I'd look at 2x4GB or 2x8GB of 1866 or 2133 either w/ a CL of 9 - how much you'll want/need will depend on what all you'll be doing w/ the rig, if basically just gaming, then 8GB will suffice, if working with the rig, (multi-tasking, video work, imaging), that type thing might want to go 16G otherwise you might find yourself wanting more DRAM shortly

I already own the AMD FX 8350. As for motherboards I am not sure what to go with yet I don't feel like
I know enough to know which to purchase. For now I am leaning towards the Asus
M5A99X EVO R2.0.
