What features and Stats should i look in to when purchasing memory?

I plan on having 8gb-16gb of memory for my 1st build. I don't know how to differentiate the performance of different sets of sticks.

You should buy 2x4GB (8gb in two sticks). Make sure its clock is atleast 1600Mhz and its latency to be 9 or lower.

What mobo and what CPU or APU will you be using - that determines what you can run, then what will you be doing w/ the rig for how much DRAM and what type freq. In general a good combo of high freq and low CL that fits in your price range

I already own the AMD FX 8350. As for motherboards I am not sure what to go with yet I don't feel like
I know enough to know which to purchase. For now I am leaning towards the Asus
M5A99X EVO R2.0.

With the 8350 and that mobo, I'd look at 2x4GB or 2x8GB of 1866 or 2133 either w/ a CL of 9 - how much you'll want/need will depend on what all you'll be doing w/ the rig, if basically just gaming, then 8GB will suffice, if working with the rig, (multi-tasking, video work, imaging), that type thing might want to go 16G otherwise you might find yourself wanting more DRAM shortly
