My router or modem doesn't let me access certain websites

I don't understand what's going on. I have a Linksys wireless-G broadband router with speed booster, and a black Hughesnet modem. And I cant access some specific websites. When I attempt to log in to Xbox live via the Xbox 360 or go the Xbox live website on my laptop, it says the website is unavailable. However when I go to the website on my phone using my phones cellular service, it comes up with no problems. As I said, I don't understand what's going on. And this recently started happening yesterday.

Could be firewall , or ports not open . Somthing you need to configure in the modem to allow the ports used by xbox to access internet. try googl ports needed open for xbox live , access your router and open those ports. Or disable the firewall on the router , if there is an option for DMZ select that and chose the device you want running outside the firewall. to access the router type 192.168.0.1 in the address bar of your browser

From my point of view, firstly, check your firewall if HTTP and HTTPS ports are open. Then, head over to your router and check if you use some kind of DNS like OpenDNS which blocks access to certain website on request, if yes then change it to a non-parental control DNS for example Google Public DNS. Thirdly, some routers features parental control which will block access to inappropriate sites. Try to check if you have and disable it.

Good luck. :)

I couldn't find the HTTP and HTTPS ports in the windows firewall. When I typed the routers gateway 192.168.1.1 in the browser address bar, a Google search result came up. And when I accessed the website on my phone, I used cellular data.

So that means your computer is having some issues while your cellular data isn't. Could you try rebooting the router? Shut down and unplug then wait for 10 seconds and plug-in and turn it on?

I attemped to access archive.org but it said that it wasn't avaliable, so I unpluged the router and plugged it back up like you said, and the website comes up, but Xbox live still didn't come up. I tried to get to the routers DMZ but It wouldn't authorize me, even though I have the password and username set. But it doesn't matter anymore, I've switched to a D-Link router, and so far no issues. But I will post any issues I come across.
