Hi,
I am thinking about building a gaming pc targeted at Planetside 2 and Minecraft. I might be doing light recording. I require an OS and am fine with Windows 8.1. I would prefer an SSD as I am receiving a new 1tb HDD from a mate. I heard MSY is a good store in Australia and I checked that I live near one.

Budget: $500
I have a monitor, keyboard and mouse already.

Already I can get Windows 8.1 as a student for $70 dollars.

Solution
Your budget is very small, this is the best I can do for you without OS.

You won't get a gaming pc for 500 bucks in Australia. You're talking nearly 500 for the gpu alone. However you might just be able to put something together which will run very basic games at low settings/resolution.

With OS you will be struggling, Planetside 2 is already quite demanding for the PC listed above.
