Hey everyone,
After several years I decided to upgrade my old and loved Microsoft 1.1a white. So, I bought a Razer Mamba. Mouse looks great, I thought wireless would be a problem (I know I can wire it), but response it's fast and reliable.

Anyway, before buying it I look around because of palm/claw grip that get me worried. I wanted to buy a mouse according to my needs, of course. So, I started to look for claw grips ones. Lots of people told to not be obsessed with that, because most of palm grips mices are still comfortable if you want to claw.
Finally, I got the Mamba.

As I said, I love it. For it's aesthetycs, response, everything. BUT, it's not comfortable for gaming. I can't get used to it at all. I don't know why either! I usually play FPS, CS:GO mostly, and sensitivity is WEIRD. I used to "pick" the mouse with my hand sometimes, and that way I "took it off" from the surface and I can control, in some way, how much I want to turn my crosshair. Problem is doing that the crosshair drives crazy. Besides, I feel my hand really weird after using the mice for a few hours.

Someone please tell me if this is normal. Is this the claw grip problem? This mouse seems to be for palm grip. I'm trying to use it in different games and scenarios so I can get used to it's form and everything, but no result till now.

Thanks for reading me and help.

Alan.

Hi Alan,

with most of the advanced gaming mice you can set your lift off range in the "customize" section of the Razer Configurator.
I would recommend you to switch off all kinds of mouse acceleration in windows and in the driver and in games. There is a video here that might help you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAEuXEdgIDs

I have deathadder and had similar problems with a sensei mouse until I configured its lift off to be higher. Obviously, you should get a good mouse mat if you dont have one, that can also make the "crosshair drive crazy".

Thanks for your reply and your time, buddy.

I never used mouse acceleration, anyway I watched the video and made everything it says. Thanks for that.
What is the "lift off range" you mentioned? Can't find it in the Razer Synapse (configurator). Customize section is just for the buttons.

I will get a nice pad and try to get used to the palm grip in some way. I get used to take it off from the surface while claw. I don't know why, I just do it haha.

Thanks again!

Hi Again, yes the Razer Configurator software is really stupid. The theme is so cool that you can barely see anything as the theme is black and the text is dark gray. Often when it opens a window it opens it on top of the main windows and since the window itself is black and supercool, you cannot even see that it is a window, and you cannot close the configurator window because there is a modal popup window open that you cannot see either. It is just bad design on many levels. Anyhow rant over.

In the software there are 3 main menu options. MOUSE MACROS STATS. CLICK MOUSE. Under MOUSE there are CUSTOMIZE PERFORMANCE LIGHTING CALIBRATION. CLICK CALIBRATION. At the bottom of the screen there is a slider saying LIFTOFF RANGE. That specifies how far you mouse will track when you lift it. If you don't see it, your mouse might not support this, but I think it will. It also helps to upgrade the software to the latest version. In the top of the window you will perhaps see a green circle with a number in it, if it says upgrade software in there then you should upgrade your software, it also might upgrade your mouse firmware with it.
