I have a Lenovo G 580 laptop, built in one ke recovery is corrupted. Then tried to put Win7 OS but failed. Now, hard disk has been formateed and no OS at all. Tried making bootable usb and dvd for Onekey recovery setup from lenovo website but failed :((

Solution
If you formatted your HDD, then you lost the restore partition most likely and the stuff on the website is next to near useless to you.

Need to go with 2 options i mentioned above.

Is your original OS Windows 8 or Windows 8.1? Because that does matter because of the imbedded Product Key. Otherwise, you can a) order a new set of discs from Lenovo or b) live with just a clean install by finding an ISO and some missing features/controls (well you can get most of that on Lenovo's driver support page). For solution B, you must get the install for the Windows your computer came with. If it was 8 you need 8 if it was 8.1 you need 8.1.

Yeah pretty much. You won't ever have to re-buy windows. If someone says you do, they cray cray. You have the product key embedded into the BIOS of your computer (no more unreadable sticker or peeling sticker anymore on the bottom of the laptop, but at the same time, no more stealing the Key and using it for another computer if the laptop dies). Now ultimately, if you can find a clean ISO, on the internet, that will work as well. Since a clean ISO is pretty much just an image of the Retail Disc, and since you technically "own" a copy of Windows (again technically for limited use on said device only). Then its in a legal grey area where you really aren't pirating windows but at the same time, you're downloading an image of the retail disc.
