XBOX ONE VS PS4 - Value vs Performance

Hi, this might be a very hard question to ask but here it goes.

I am trying to decide which console to buy.
My last console was PS2 so i dont really have a preference of platform.

The problem is PS4 is more powerful but xbox offers more value.

All in AUD price
PS4
-LITTLE big planet 3
-drive club
-last of us
-far cry 4
-$598

Xbox one
-halo master chief
-assassins creed Unity & black flag
-call of duty
-forza
-sunset overdrive
-$529

Honestly, the price gap doesnt matter since im willing to pay $600 but xbox has 6 games and if i match the price, i get 7 games. the masterchief collection itself is also 4 games so i get 10 games in total.
This is a great deal and ebgames is probably doing this since xbox isnt selling well.
But i cant decide since ps4 is more powerful and i want something more future proof.
One of the reasons why im considering ps4 is also the exclusive. Just one game which is pirate warriors :)

So to sum it up. Xbox has far more greater value (10 games) compared to ps4 (4 games) but ps4 has greater performace and that one game i want to try out. Which one would you recommend and perhaps choose yourself?

This Is why im switching to pc, im tired of xbox and ps fanboys ranting about which console is best while both sucks as hell, i am tired of all your fanboy crud and cant wait to rather play on pc, seriously, why cant you people stop your annoying and pointless rant about why one is better than another

so im saying this with my tongue in my cheek, and as a huge xbox fan boy, id have to say ps4, after buying a xbox one, and its psu blew, (never even played on it) microsoft RMA service sucks, they didnt want to replace my psu, xbox is huge and ugly, and it goed on on, again, as an xbox fanboy, go with ps4.....

Are both broken as hell. Also with the ps4 you can actually play some at 1080p ( which i might add is still bullshit )
In my opinion the consoles should be 600+ dollars and feature 4k support and a r9 290x equivalent unless they want to die fast death.

I hear what u say and u are right. But since i Want a console cause i thought id give it another try and resolutions dont really matter as long as its not 720p (900p should be enough on my crappy tv) and broken games will be fixed soon.

Most good xbox games are 720p sadly :(
Are sure you don`t want a pc? you could build a pc that plays in 1440p for about 600 dollars.
If no then the PS4 is your only option ( even xbox fanboys agree )

so you are saying choose performance over value? cause another reason why im struggling to decide is im more familiar with games bundled with xbox than ps4. I never played drive club, litlebigplanet, farcry and last of us. Are they better games overall compared to the games bundled with xbox?

Believe me the performance with the xbox one will only be worse with future games ( if it can barely do 1080p/720p with current gen games )
With the ps4 your at least guaranteed that most games will be 900p/1080p

With those bundle options, Xbox One is definitely the best value...and the games in the bundle are better by far (w/ exception of Far Cry 4...would have been nice to have that in the XBONE bundle)...Forza > Driveclub...Sunset Overdrive is a blast (funny, quick action, cool ass weapons)...LBP3, not my cup of tea at all...Last of Us is great game but easily offset by Halo MCC (4-games-in-one which play great...I don't really do competitive MP all that often unless MP only like Titanfall)...if you pick up another game w/ the Xbox One to even out the bundle prices, I would recommend either Titanfall , Destiny, or Forza Horizon 2...all three are great games, and while they all look great, FH2 looks and performs simply awesomely...also, being able to snap an app while playing a game is super handy...I imagine the Kinect is not included in the bundle, but it definitely adds to the experience if eventually pick one up down the road...

I totally agree with you about the games being much better with xbone bundle and im also more familiar with the franchise like assassin's creed. I never played any of the games bundled with PS4 so i cant really judge.
I am also not planning to use any of the unique xbox features so they are not pro for me.
So you are saying to choose games and value over the performance and possibly bigger gap between PS4 AND xbox one's graphic performance in the future?
Cause thats what im really worried about. The current value of xbox is great but ps4 IS WAY MORE FUTURE proof

No i am not sarcastic, im just dissapointed that i took an xbox one (isince i own a xbox 360 slim i figured what the heck) and i should have instead took a ps4 because i was too blind to realise that microsoft isnt doing well, also all my friends have ps4, so ill kindoff suggest rather taking what your friend have

As far as size, the playstation 4 is dainty. My friend had his, and his Xbox one fall of his dresser. The ps4 broke into pieces, literally pieces. The xb1 is working just fine.

And for performance. I think people need to learn more about what they think they know they're talking about.

The ps4 is miles ahead of the xbone ( from a pc enthusiast )

The diffrence between 720p and 1080p is about 40% more work for the gpu in that aspect the ps4 is atleast 30% better in the gpu department then the xbone

The PS4 is 900p upscaled to 1080p and Xbox One is 766p upscaled to 1080p , these scenarios are in the most demanding games only and chances are that you wouldn't find much of a difference in cross platform games simply for the fact that they run at identical framerates ( usually around 30 FPS ) and identical quality furthermore both of them are upscaled.

Destiny's a higher rated port on the Xbox One ( 78.55%) , same applies to COD AW ( 83.28% (40 reviews)) While Dragon Age and AC Unity run better on PS4 by a little margin so it's not difference by 30% at all.

They're both tied on BF4 and Child of light. So Graphical difference shouldn't be the main talking point in you're purchase , PS4 offers better experience for some while others prefer the Xbox One ( The Xbox one dominated the PS4 in NA and The UK on Black Friday with 51% of the sales while PS4 was trailing with 39% followed by the 360 ).

Get the better bundle and the console which you think your friends will pick up after a while.
