Would an AMD FM2 A8 6600K Quad core @ 4.2 ghz bottleneck the performance of an r9 280x? If so, say if I was playing battlefield 4 on ultra what would be the fps I would get, as maximum and minimum? Thanks.

The AMD A8-6600K is a 'Richland' APU that will likely perform in the same manner as the AMD A10-5700 'Trinity' APU, an earlier locked, slightly slower CPU.

Can't help you with 'Ultra' or 'minimums' except to say on 64-player maps in 'heavy' areas your drops are likely to be substantial. 32-player maps can help minimize those drops.
