Hi guys,

Thank you in advance to anyone who takes their time to help me on this one, really really appreciated.

Over the summer one or two graphic intensive games would crash with random 'game'.exe has stopped responding errors. This would happen few and far between so it wasn't really that much of an issue.

Recently every game I try and play crashes with the error, sometimes I get an error saying

'Display Driver stopped responding and has recovered'
Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 344.75, stopped responding and has successfully recovered'

Now I thought a random format might solve this, so I've reformatted everything and it still happens. Everything else works fine.

PC Specs:

Windows 7 64bit
Intel Core i7-3770K CPU @ 3.5GHz
16 GB DDR3 Ram
Nvidia GTX 770 - 4GB
128 GB SSD
3TB normal HD

Now with this being a display / graphics problem...I've tried to stick my old graphics card in to see what happens. When I stick it in the PC doesn't boot and just goes to a blue screen after loading windows.

Any help or suggestions would be great, I've never dealt with a problem that hasn't been fixed from reformatting a computer before.

Cheers!

Hi, this is a known issue for NVIDIA cards, even I got it when I first got my GTX 970. There isn't actually a solid fix but you can make it so it doesn't happen as often or maybe even not at all.

I'd recommend uninstalling your current video driver and any others because they can be conflicting. Download the current version driver, select [custom installation] and deselect "3D vision controller device, 3D vision driver and PhysX System software". The crash hasn't popped up for me since I've done this from what I can remember.

Try run your games and see if the problem still persists

Just tried that, still no joy.

The exe errors are the most common ones.

I'd say for every .exe has stopped responding error, I get one driver display error.

I'm also getting an error were the game freezes then the monitor seems to lose all connection to the graphics card, I have to restart the pc to get everything back. This one hardly happens though...

Managed to get my old GTX 280 working, and although it can't play the new games as they require direct x 11, it's playing older games ok.

The GTX 770 is crashing everything, including games the GTX 280 is playing fine

I've reformatted the pc again.

As soon as I install the graphics cards drivers the PC restarts after the windows loading screen has finished.

I then get the option to boot in safe mode, which works fine, or I can do a system restore to before the driver installation and it works fine.
