I know r9 is better in specs, but otherwise I have heard AMD Requires more Electricity and gives lot of heat ? if this is true what can I do to control this ? If I am thinking for a Budget PC which of these is a better option. ?

500w non generic PSU will be enough. as for the 6 pin thing it is the external power needed for the card to function. power consumption wise the 270 actually is pretty much the same to GTX660 as shown by this review...

That graph is old. I wound not religh on that....there are anomalies all over it.

280X is not slower than 680, lol.

the 270 is a bit faster than 660. it does need more power than 660 but it is not as bad as you think. 270 need two 6 pin while 660 only need one.

270x newer and my friend has one and he can run far cry 3 really well on ultra.

660 is much older so the 270x is your best bet.

Regarding cooling, as long as you have a well ventilated case and you don't overclock it, it will be fine.

not really. 270X is just a new name AMD give to 7870. 7870 comes out much earlier than nvidia 660.

Can you explain a bit more on the two 6-pin vs one 6-pin ? What Mobo is compatible with 270 and what PSU ?

as shown by the power consumption test 270X can get away with only one 6 pin but AMD did equip the card with two 6 pin. and in real world cases the card might fail to boot up if you did not connect both 6 pin to the card.

[the PCI-E slot can provide up to 75w of power. 6 pin from power supply will provide another 75w of power. the 8 pin will provide 150w]
