I would like to keep 120fps and never below 60fps in all titles, preferably ultra. -edit but not needed

I have one 680, should I scrap it or get another. Also, doesn't SLi have pathetic issues? Like, 80% turn over, and half of all titles or more don't even support it, right?

Solution
Don't listen to anybody that .
1 Tells you that you need a new processor.
2 Tells you to get 2 980's
The SLI performance has came a long way but for a single monitor is not really needed if you can get a good price on another 680 that would be your cheapest option.
Buying a single 980 is not very cost effective If I was you I would either get the other 680 or sell your card and get a 970 if needed in the future you can add another for a lot better performance that a 980 for around the same total price.
I run a i5 2500K with 970's on 3 1080p monitors and the performance is great.

Ow! I said I would prefer ultra, not need it. The i5 is overclocked. Still didn't contribute to the question at all :/

That depends on the game and settings. Yes, it may be old, but if it is OC'ed, the i5 2500k's are not much behind the newest CPU's. CPU's have not made the giant gains GPU's have. But it is true that many games will be limited by the CPU when trying to reach 120 FPS. Even with an i7-5930k.

Now the GPU choice is also very dependent on settings. If you are ok with lower settings, even the 680 can get you past 120 FPS, but if you want to play at Ultra, then you'll need to consider SLI or Crossfire. If cost is a factor, you might consider looking at 290 CF, or even 290x CF. They are getting really cheap right now, and about at the 970 performance level, if not higher for 1, with 2 it is better yet.

I appreciate the input and suggestions but I will never, ever purchase another amd product again. I have had horrible times with many of their gpus. Is SLI 680s even supported greatly enough for it to be worth it?

Actually I am in a similar position!!
I have one 670 and my cpu is i5 4690K. Right now I have decided not to hurry and wait for the next generation of Nvidia GPUs.
But if I can find another healthy ASUS 670 I will consider going SLI, otherwise 980 is pricy right now and I will wait for the next gen's midrange if I felt the need of an upgrade. :D

Thank you, and I know the 2550k is still great that guy was high d:^)

I will probably pick up a 970 I'm thinking. 30% more expensive, for 10-15% more performance.

The bad thing about that is your spending 70% more on a video card 980 for a 18% performance increase.
