Ok so I have a budget of ~$2000 W/O, peripherals and an OS and this is what I came up with, also I already have a case so no need to worry about that.

CPU-i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core
CPU Cooler- Cooler Master 212 EVO
Motherboard- Asus Z97-Pro ATX
Memory- Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB
HHD- Wester Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 7200RPM
GPU- GTX 980sc 4GB x2 (Running in 2 way SLI)
PSU- Corsair 750W 80+ Platinum

What are your thoughts on this? Is it worth it? What needs to add/removed/changed?

Thank you for your time

Liquid CPU Cooler is overkill for that processor, especially when it's non-K edition and not suitable for good overclocking. Much cheaper 212 EVO would do it's job just fine. I would use that price cut from CPU cooler to upgrade to 4690k at least.
Also you should consider to get 12GB or 16GB RAM at least for that build, latest games already use ~8GB for highest settings.

Okay, thank you so I actually did have the 4690k on just a typo on my part. Do you think I should still go to the 212 EVO for cooling or stick with the NZXT, also I upgraded the RAM to 16GB

First of all, you need to know for what you are going to use that cooler. If you are not going to overclock your processor, NZXT will cool it about 8 degrees celsius better than 212 EVO on stock load, which is not necessary thing for $100.. Personally I would go with 212 EVO + i7-4790(or -K edition). If you are sure that you need better cooling, which is useless for non-extreme overclocking, stay with 4690k. Why I am saying i7 ? i5-4690k is perfect spot for games right now, but after 1-2 years 4690k processor may not work as good as your powerful 2x GTX 980SC.

That's a very good point, I think I'm going to go ahead and go with the 212 EVO and the i7 4790k as you say because I know very very little about overclocking. Once again thank you.
