i7 will be best for video and will do very well in gaming, especially as more games come out that can use multiple threads

This wasn't quite what I expected, haha.
A guy I know, he told me that I did not need an i7 processor, because I am also going to get a GTX 970, which can process the graphics in the video editing.
It was the MSI brand he told me about.

Forget for this or for that, the 4790k is superior regardless. Google 4690k vs 4790k gaming benchmarks. I made the decision on my last build to go with the i7 based on what I saw even though I don't edit, render, etc. on my pc. IMO the price difference is worth it.
