hey guys I found a old (made in 2004) dell dimension 4600. now I need a way to connect my new pc (windows 7) to this old (windows vista) using only cables.

i made a bridge between the wireless card and the ethernet port on my new pc and i then plugged the cable into a router. i then plugged another ethernet cable from the second lan port of the router into the old pc.

what i really want to do is play games (halo 1) in a lan multiplayer

for any more info just ask.

If one or both of your computers have gigabit capable network ports, you can just run a cable directly. If neither have gigabit then you would have to create a crossover cable. With a wire only network, you won't have a DHCP server so you will have to manually set static IP addresses on both machines.
