I'm looking for PC parts to build my first computer, around the $300-$400 range and it doesn't have to be the greatest computer. Also saying that 300 is too low is not answering my question, so don't say that it's too low because obviously it's not. I've seen numerous videos about making gaming PCs for $300 or a little more but most of them have AMD processors or just don't have a graphics card. I'm also Canadian so keep that in mind. Also keep in mind that my budget is for the parts of the computer, not the monitors and other peripherals.

Yep that's in budget even adding a cheap Disc Drive. EDIT just noticed you left off a hard drive :(
Everybody here agrees he needs to add about 150 to the budget to get decent performance with decent quality parts. And really for a very low budget a AMD build is the way to go.
To the OP in the UK you could maybe do a cheap gaming PC for 300 using a AMD processor, in the US 400, in CA your prices are higher and shipping sux so 450 min more realistic would be 500!
Like i7's list would work but you might pop the power supply when you first push the on button.

Howsabout
Pentium 2 400 mhz $10
Intel pentium 2 slot 1 motherboard $25
Ibm deskstar 500mb drive $5
128mb mem $5
Can only accept pci/isa vid cards or you have an onboard best option.
This is the hottest system of NOW. Get it while you can. Oh while im at it I will throw in a free 12" monochrome crt monitor at no additional costs. Along with the newest and hottest os ipfire.

Well, I didn't build one myself but due to low budgets I want to build one of these too.
I did some research and found a video that looked like it could make a good computer, plus it does better than consoles.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZR-a35sxLg
It had these specs in the desc:
i5 750 overclocked to 3.7 ghz
Asus H55 LGA 1156 motherboard
4GB DDR3 memory
GTX 760
320GB Samsung Spinpoint HDD
Cooler Master Wavemaster Case
Arctic Alpine 11 GT cpu cooler
