Im thinking about buying either of those two cards, are they compatible with my current system? and which one is better?

Asus P5G41T-M LX
RAM 4GB DDR3 1333MHz
Pentium dual core E5700 @3.00GHz
Ati 5450 1GB DDR3 (current video card)

I will be mostly using it for gaming at 1360x768 resolution. If its compatible and despite some bottlenecking due to my processor, would I be seeing a significant increase in perfomance while gaming?

Can you link to the exact cards in question? I believe the 250 Boost is just a 1000/1050 MHz core like most 250s with boost. I would opt for the 2GB version if that is the only difference. You won't have too bad of bottleneck with that dual core, if any. And the R7-250 should be fine at 720p resolution.

You'll see a major improvement over the HD 5450: http://www.hwcompare.com/15392/radeon-hd-5450-vs-radeon-r7-250/
