Hi guys, as mentioned in my title, I want to know which GPU would be better to suit my CPU, since its very old. I would like to go for the R7 260x as it is just around RM470+ in my country, compared to the AMD HD 7790 which is roughly RM440+. What would you guys suggest me? I have asked in another thread and the user replied that I can use HD 7770 without any bottle-necking, which is a very good response for me. So please do give your comments and suggestions.

Thank you for the reply. The next thing is, is my 460W PSU enough to support the R7 260X? Or do I need a new 80+ gold PSU? I am planning to get one as i think my current one is a Cooler Master 460W which i think performs around 300W only.. lol. Is this ASUS R7 260X 2GB D5 DCU II OC good enough? It is priced at RM479. Or is this SAPPHIRE R7 265 2GB D5 better, for RM529?

If this is your PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171046&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-Power+Supplies-_-N82E16817171046&gclid=CLK1lMfUtMICFaVDMgodKyoAXg
...it is indeed a poor-ish quality PSU. I had one. If you treat it like a 350W, you are OK. Because that is all its specs allow it to be. 2 x 18A (+12V) rails rated at 324W. Use it if you must, but replace it as soon as possible. No, it doesn't have to be a Gold. Good quality Bronze or Silver is OK too.
Use this as a guide and try to stay in the top 3 tiers: https://community.newegg.com/eggxpert/computer_hardware/f/135081/t/45344.aspx?Redirected=true

Yes it is exactly my PSU. It was supplied with my rig, so i have been using it for like 2years? Lol. Anyway, i was thinking of cross-firing my GPU, so therefore my PSU has to go. Any brands you would recommend from the list?

Be aware that CF isn't very smooth with low end and mid range cards. Better than it used to be, but not as smooth as a single card. Stutters a bit now and then. And your 2nd PCIe X16 slot needs to be at least x8 lanes to get the best performance from the 2nd card. Many boards' 2nd PCIe x16 slot are only x4 lanes wide.

I've always liked XFX power supplies. But Seasonic, Corsair (non-CX), Antec, are all good too. Are you in the US?

Ah.. Okay. I will not CF then. Mine should be x4 lanes i think.. No man I am not from US. I am from Malaysia. I do not think my local store have Antec PSUs. So far i know is Antec coolers they have. And also i dont think they have XFX PSUs too. Lol. Anyway, I have checked and I think I would go with Corsair PSUs. Is it better for a 550 or 650W? I would get a budget range PSU from Corsair from RM200-RM300, on top of the GPU, which would cost ard RM700 then, i do not mind. Btw, the GPU sockets are standard right? Example; The Nvidia GPU can be fitted into an AMD mobo right? As long as it has PCIe x16 it can fit right? If yes then i may also consider NVidia GPUs. Lol.

Ahh. If that's the case I may as well buy a 600W PSU. I am also planning to upgrade my FX-4100 next year to the FX-8350 and also maybe a better GPU. Haha.. So.. Should I just buy it all at once? Or slowly upgrade? LOL.

Corsair RM PSUs are top of the line. PCIe X16 slots are universal with either AMD or Nvidia. I would recommend the 600W if finances allow. More headroom and more room for upgrades.
