Computer powering on by itself

Hello,
I have a ASRock H97M Pro4 LGA 1150 Intel H97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard and did my own build for the first time the other day. Everything was going smoothly, doing my windows updates and such as well as driver updates and I think it went rather well.

However I currently am having a problem where my computer is powering on by itself. I shut it down (not sleep or hibernate) and it rests for 3-5 seconds with all led's and such from fans off, then it turns itself on and boots up windows like a normal bootup.

From just a bit of research I was trying to look at my BIOS and see if there was a wake up setting or turn on setting but they are all 'disabled' in the 'advanced' tab.

My system is as follows:

ASRock mobo (see above)
Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
EVGA SuperClocked 02G-P4-2765-KR G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-bit
CORSAIR CXM series CX750M 750W ATX12V Power Supply
Intel Core i5-4440 Haswell Quad-Core 3.1GHz (3.3GHz Turbo) LGA 1150 84W Processor
Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-01 RED LED Black ATX Mid Tower Gaming Computer Case
Seagate Hybrid Drives ST1000LM014 1TB MLC/8GB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s
My optical drive is a LG from my old rig but does the job just fine

Any thoughts?

Solution
I solved this. After a little research, I found that other people were having the same issue, and it seems to stem from Intel's Smart Connect. I had already disabled wake-on-LAN and was still having phantom boot ups (not from sleep, from the system being powered off). I also had disabled USB power (when system is off) in the BIOS. Still was getting start-ups in the middle of the night.

My system is:
O/S Windows 8.1 64-bit
CPU Intel i5-4570
RAM 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws X Series
HDD Seagate Barracuda SATA 3 7200 2TB
SDD Crucial M500 240GB
Video/GPU Gigabyte GXT 960
MoBo ASrock H97 Pro4
Case Antec Three Hundred Two
Power supply Corsair CX600M

As soon as I disabled Smart Connect, they stopped. Really strange considering I thought Smart...

I can give that a go, I have my power supply from my old rig. However I reset the power settings to default, and it didn't boot back up again, I'll have to see if its still off when I get home from work. If it is maybe I'm in the clear. If not then I'll try my old power supply then if its flawless I know my new corsair cx750m could be the problem =(

Did you identify the issue? I have the same motherboard and find my system will power on by itself after a say or 2 unexpectedly. I also reviewed all the BIOS settings to ensure the wake on LAN and system dehumidification options were disabled which they were. I have not swapped out the power supply yet but looking at that as the next step. Since your issue seems to be very similar to mine was wondering if you ever reached resolution and were you ended up.

Thanks

I have the almost identical thing happening with my recent ASRock H97 Pro4 build. I'll shut it down, and then when I come back the next day, it's powered itself on. Dehumidify and Wake on LAN are both disabled in the BIOS settings. My power supply is the infamous Corsair CX600M.

I had this issue with that board and found that from a review of the event log the system was going into a suspend mode and not fully shuting down. The change I made was to go into Windows 8 and change it so that the quick startup option is disabled and the system now does a full shutdown. Since then have not had an issue with this problem. Let me know if you need further details.

As soon as I disabled Smart Connect, they stopped. Really strange considering I thought Smart Connect was only supposed to wake your computer up from sleep to check email, Facebook, etc, but it was brining my system up from being powered off entirely. The mysteries of vPro, I guess.
