Hello I'd appreciate any input on this, thanks in advance.

I have an ASUS Sabertooth R2.0, it started making a noise that i can at best describe as scratching plus electric distortion and have been able to pin point it to the MOSFET area. Now i am pretty much convinced it is none fixable but i do need to know possible reasons that cause this, 1 to know if the waranty covers it and 2 to avoid it on my next mobo. Important information follows:

CPU AMD FX 8320 3.5 GHz ..... overclocked to 4.0 GHz
CPU cooling Cooler Master Seidon 120 M
RAM Kingston Hyper X 8 GB x 2 dims
HDD 3.5 1TB Seagate-1355
PSU Cooler Master Silent Pro 720 W
GPU Asus Geforce GTX 760 OC DC II 2GB
Optical Drive LG DVD
Case Cooler Master HAF 922 with two 180 mm fans plus the one from the seidon cooler

thanks for any advice

Solution
Does it happen all the time or only when using the system heavily(like games)?
And are you sure it's the motherboard and not anything else, like the PSU or GPU?

thanks for the replay and sorry for the delay. i took the pc apart and started testing every part until i discovered that the noise was coming from the pump of the Seidon 120m (this sits to the right of the mosfets over the cpu), a part of the pump broke and was scratching the pump casing.
when i assembled the pc back together the pump just died and had to be sent back to warranty but i was told the replacement part would be sent no sooner than 2 months ( i live in mexico) so i bought a Corsair h80i and will just sell the cooler master when it arrives.
