Hello!

First let me list relevant specs:
Intel Core i7 4790k (Not Overclocked, Intel Diagnostic Test Passed)
CoolerMaster Air Cooler (Hyper 212 Plus), Very Thin layer of Thermal Paste Applied to CPU (High-End Paste)
Nvidia GTX 680
Asus Z97-AR Mobo
750W Power Supply

And relevant temps:
Graphics card appears to stay around 30-40C
Mobo reports staying around 30C Normally
CPU Idles around 28C and stays around 28C during Web Browser Use
CPU Maxes out around 60C when heavily used (No computer problems arise when rendering video)

So I get the new processor and mobo above back in July. Since then, I've had a lot of problems which have happened on both old and fresh installs of Windows:

  • * Computer Graphics Freezing. Sometimes the entire computer will freeze. Sound will intermittently stop working as well as the screen.
    * Computer Freezing Completely, but sound still works. Computer reboots itself after a few seconds.
    * Computer Graphics and Sound Intermittently freezing (working for 2 or 3 seconds then not working for 6-7).Sound can occasionally just repeat the same sound over and over during the freeze. Cannot be fixed without system reboot.
    * Graphics/Sound Freeze (Sound occasionally works). This stops and "Nvidia display driver stopped working and has recovered" appears near the system tray. The above problems usually start happening shortly after.

The above most commonly happen when watching a video or playing a game. Again though, I doubt the processor is the cause if video rendering causes no problems...

Does anyone know what the cause of the above problem could be? Thanks!
