Hi guys my first post here so be gentle
my issue is when trying to change my ram settings ni Bios to 1600mhz from 1333mhz my pc then fails to boot or prompts a msg saying "the system has experienced boot failure because of OC" and resets to default

my rig is
Corsair 16gb (4x4gb) ddr3 1600mhz CL9 (9-9-9-24) 1.5V
AMD FX-6100 be 3.3GHZ 6 Core
gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 ( on F2 bios)
MSi HD 7670 2gb gfx card
seagate 1TB barracuda
windows 7 premium x64 bit

i have gone into bios settings taken off auto for ram detection and manually set it to 1600mhz and entered timings 9-9-9-24 save setting exit reboot at this point i am either met with the msg stated before or it totally fails to even turn on
i shall supply some pictures as soon as i can

being AMD theres no XMP setting

thanks in advanced for any help on this

Solution
Go into BIOS and look for one of AMD variants of XMP, believe on your mobo they use DOCP (may be EOCP), enable that and set to 1600, then check what it sets the timings to - go ahead and boot - if all is well and the timings weren't spec (i.e. timings should be 9-9-9 and it set to 10-10-10 then can go back and set to proper timings....if that causes problems, raise the DRAM voltage + 0.05
I have had similar issues with a 990FX gigabyte board. So I would go into the BIOS and use manual settings for the system voltage and set the 1600Mhz ram to 1.6V. Also I would manually set the timings for the ram to whatever the specs for the Corsair ram. 9-9-9-24 plus use the suggested SPD settings setting if that is available.

Let me know how it goes.
