Bought a new gigabyte g1 gaming gtx 970. Removed my currently working msi 560ti. Installed gtx 970, turned on pc, windforce emblem lights up and fans run, but no display output on hdmi or either of the dvi ports. Put gtx 970 in another pc, it works there. Tested a radeon hd7850 in my pc, that card and the 560ti working. Motherboard is gigabyte z77 ud5h with 2600k cpu. PSU is corsair hx 750. Updated bios for motherboard to latest level that was not a beta bios. Still no display with gtx970. Launched windows from onboard hdmi graphics. Uninstalled all nvidia drivers. Attempted to install driver for gtx970, wont install, it says it cant find compatible hardware. Clean installed windows 7 64bit, still not working. Removed motherboard and put on wood bench with only ram, cpu, power supply and gtx970 (no hard drive), can hear speaker beep, still no display. Inspected all connections, both psu cables (one 8 pin and one 6 pin) both fully seated, pci connection fully seated with nothing preventing the card from seating fully, and hdmi cable fully seated. Cables were tested on another gpu and worked on that. I disabled onboard graphics in bios and set it to pci slot only. Still no display on gtx970, but display still working with 560ti. Tried pulling mother board battery and cycling power button several times, tired loading optimized defaults in bios. I cannot figure out the problem. It seems to me that the motherboard/bios is not recognizing the newer card. After a lot of time on google, it seems other people are using a gtx970 on this motherboard. I cant find anything about this card not being compatible. Hopefully someone smarter than me can help me figure this out. Thanks.
