Will this build work for me?

So, I've been wanting to build a PC for quite some time. Since I don't know many specifics when it comes to the hardware, I asked my friend to put together the parts he thinks I'll need.
I'm going to be using my PC primarily for my games course (3D modelling, rendering etc.), as well as gaming and general computer use.
A link to the parts is here:

Please note the list doesn't include a keyboard, mouse and monitors. We're going for a black and blue theme. I'm going to have a double monitor setup.

Thanks for your feedback in advance :)

The build looks great to me other than a few things. The CPU cooler you have picked out is pretty over-kill for the build I would recommend going with the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO which is much cheaper, and with the price cut on CPU cooler I would also recommend upgrading the GPU to a GTX 970. Which will actully be about the same price if not cheaper than your current build.
