was wondering if i could get some info,im kinda novice to intermediate with computers and picked out and put together my first computer:

INTEL i7 4790k 4 GHZ cpu
ASUS Z97-AR MOBO
SAMSUNG 850 PRO SSD 128 GIG
KINGSTON hyper x blue 2x8 GB DDR3 1600MHZ
NVIDIA GTX 660 IT GDDR5 vid card
CORSAIR CX750 WATT PS

It runs great,i downloaded speccy to see how the chip and thermals look,i noticed that the chip is running between 4.2 ghz and 4.4,when i thought 4ghz was normal speed for it and overclocked it would be around the 4.4 mark.i didnt do any changes to the BIOS,nor did i hit any turbo switches(the MOBO has a turbo for the CPU and another for the ram). Also the cores were running between 90 and 115 deg FH with a video game on(between 88-95 deg FH idle)is this normal or did i luck out and get a superchip hahaha?Any ideas? Thanks in advance......

Solution
It's normal, when the CPU is running cool, it will boost the cores up a bit for better performance. The more thermal headroom it has, the longer it will stay at those boosted speeds. It's the similar to how the CPU will slow down if it gets too hot.

The "Max Turbo Frequency" for your CPU is 4.4ghz.
