Hello guys my built is intel core i7 4790k 4 ghz,Asus maximus vii hero,Asus gtx 970 strix,wd caviar black 1tb,samsung 256 gb ssd, corsair h100i liquid cooling,4 led fans corsair sp and af series, fan controller sentry 3, samsung cd reader.I might upgrade it with second gtx970 in 2-3 years and I want to buy a very good psu that will be sufficient for that built and never need to use more than 75-80% of the wattage it offers.I plan to overclock...im thinking of corsair ax760 w 80 plus platinum,I would like you to tell me if this is enough and suggest me any other psu that would provide quality and the needed wattage in my built.thanks alot

Solution

Nobody can say this for sure unles they tested with that hardware combo so the reason why i picked the 850watt psu's for some extra. The 750watt versions should do fine too.
People have said that especially if overclocked the gtx 970 under full load can draw more than it's sticker rating - the 1000w capstone from rosewill may seem excessive, but guru3d rec's min 800w for sli and that will keep you worst case scenario within 75-80% psu wattage even under extreme sli conditions.

So your saying that 800 w would be perfect? My goal is to be at 90% of the wattage max, by using 2 gtx 970 overclocked.as for the quality I dont know if those psus you suggest me are trustworthy,I have no problem with the money so suggest me a supreme psu that will be perfect for my built.

Hmm,so you say 850 w.... isnt that a bit too much? Also the certified efficiency is overkill if it is 80+ platinum? With gold ill be fine I guess? Explain me guys..........
