Cant use phone and computer on wifi at the same time

When my computer is connected to the internet via usb2.0 adapter, and i try to connect my phone to my wifi, my computer loses connection. i updated drivers, router firmware, reset entire network and nothing will fix it. the phone is a samsung galaxy legend and the usb adapter is a belkin f7d1101. windows 7 home premium, standard charter communications modem with a pretty old linksys router.

Try ethernet cable from the router to your PC.

You got good internet. It should share around just fine. How many users?

You should get a new modem/router eg AC1750 type or Netgear DGN3700. For fast dual band wifi.

yes the adapter is poor, bought about 2 years ago for 15 bucks. recently bought a new one (f9 yadda yadda yadda) but couldnt find drivers for it anywhere. the driver on belkin site gave me a catalyst download.

I get 19mb down and 7 up.

all i know about the router is that its old haha
