One point to consider if you're a gamer : most important games to come for the next 5-7 years will be designed for consoles... and both the XBox One and the PS4 are full AMD machines... so, expect most games to be optimized for AMD GPUs... I think some "benchmark games" designed for PC would still be released (such as the games by Crytek), and may work better with NVidia (especially if they do an extensive use of the PhysX engine)... but that would concern a very few games I think... AMD is certainly the way to go for the current generation ;)
