Hello, this is my first post here and I would appreciate any help.

Like the title says, I can't get my computer to recognize my graphic card (it's a ZOTAC GTX 580, http://zotacusa.com/specsheet/288-1N203-000ZT.pdf). According to the guy that I bought this from, it was functioning until it was removed from his computer recently, so I hope it isn't broken, but judging by the situation it might be...

When I boot the computer, the fans on the card are working, but I can't get any output from the card. I tried to install the driver (dl'd, since I don't have the CD) but I can't do it because the computer does not recognize the card (the installer gives me this error: "The graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware". The graphic card is not listed in device manager either).

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
i5 2500k
4gb UMAX DDR3 1600mhz x 1 (I know, it's not really a lot.. :<)
ASUS P8Z68-M PRO
Scythe Chouriki 1000W

This computer has never had an external graphic card installed before, so this is a clean install in terms of graphic card driver.

Please help me >.<

Solution
looks like a vid-card is not as plug and play anymore or certain brands don't want to work on certain boards ??

just thought it was odd that heres another z68 card issue and thought I let you see some

I do see the msi cards are not having this issue [so far] with the z68 as stated in the link I gave in the end

sorry I was not more help

Yeah I've read some of the answers on this website, and tried some of the solutions but none have worked so far. I'm currently updating my BIOS, and maybe clear CMOS after that as I haven't done that yet.. Thanks for the response though!

Edit: this is a GTX 580 I'm talking about, not a GTX 970 (I know it's a little old... but it's better then Intel HD Graphics 3000! :D)
